Have you checked out the Christmas lights on the Strand? They are looking fabulous and worth a visit. As you know from Embankment Summer Market, the area is a great place to eat, drink and shop – enjoy!
The lights were organised by Northbank Bid who say:
This year we’re bringing Christmas On The Northbank alive by celebrating the Strand’s parade route and shining a light on London Christmas highlights.
Did you know that the Savoy Theatre was the first public building in the world to be permanently lit by electricity?
Or that Victoria Embankment had the world’s first street lights? You can still see the original dolphin emblems on the lights today!
Perhaps the last remaining Webb Patent Sewer Gas Lamp on Carting Lane?
Not impressive enough?! …
How about: The Strand’s first ever Christmas lights, this year!
